Bilateral avascular necrosis of femoral head following COVID-19 infection: Case series

چکیده
Introduction: Despite having a substantial impact on survivors' mobility and leading to morbidity, musculoskeletal involvement was the post-COVID-19 infection sequelae area that received least attention in literature. Reviewing COVID-19 histories of patients who visited tertiary health center, research is aimed at finding an association between avascular femoral head necrosis, condition brought by insufficient blood flow. Avascular necrosis characterized restricted range motion, pain, disturbance gait. It Case reports: We discussed several examples which caused individuals develop bilateral necrosis. When only factor present, corticosteroids are used treat it, may become more prevalent. Detecting its early stages, hip MRI might reduce patient's disability need for continuous treatment. Conclusion: Early identification treatment AVN surgery chance disabilities.

Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head: Are Any Genes Involved?
Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) is a pathologic process that results from interruption of blood supply to the femur bone resulting in the death of bone cells and collapse of the femoral head. Nontraumatic ANFH continuesto be a significant challenge to orthopedic surgeons. While the exact mechanisms remain elusive, many new insights have emerged from research in the last decade tha...
متن کاملEarly prediction of femoral head avascular necrosis following neck fracture.
Femoral neck fracture puts at risk functional prognosis in young patients and can be life-threatening in the elderly. The present study reviews methods of femoral head vascularity assessment following neck fracture, to address the following issues: what is the risk of osteonecrosis? And what, in the light of this risk, is the best-adapted treatment to avoid iterative surgery? Femoral head vascu...
متن کاملAvascular necrosis of the femoral head.
The patient was a 51-year-old man who was evaluated by a physical therapist for a chief complaint of right hip pain. The patient was treated with a single bout of nonthrust hip joint mobilizations, but due to the patient's atypical response and long-term use of oral corticosteroid medications, he was referred to his primary care physician. Radiographs and subsequent magnetic resonance imaging r...
متن کاملAvascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head
Since the recent publication of studies of the vascular pattern of the proximal femoral epiphysis in man by Tucker (1949), Trueta and Harrison (1953), Judet, Judet, Lagrange and Dunoyer (1955), and Trueta (1957) there has been a renewed interest in the mechanism of capital necrosis after fractures of the femoral neck. The literature on the subject is so extensive that no effort will be made her...
متن کاملAvascular necrosis of the femoral head due to the bilateral injection of heroin into the femoral vein: A case report
In this study, we report a case of avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) caused by the bilateral intravenous injection of heroin into the femoral vein. The patient had not used steroids, did not smoke and did not drink excessively. The patient did not present with any systemic diseases that may cause ANFH. ANFH often causes changes to the bone mass of the femoral head, particularly, the...
